Moviesda Reviews
Perusu is a Tamil adult comedy that mixes slapstick humor with a few heartfelt moments, delivering plenty of laughs with its bold premise and sharp one-liners. Vaibhav, Sunil, and Bala Saravanan bring strong performances that add to the film’s charm, making it an overall fun watch.
That said, the movie leans a lot on easy jokes and doesn’t dive too deep into its themes, which might leave some viewers wanting more. The pacing stumbles at times, and there are a few missed opportunities to explore the story further. But if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted, no-strings-attached comedy, Perusu is a solid pick that’s sure to keep you entertained.
I will rate the movie 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
Critical Reviews
Abhinav Subramanian of The Times of India rated the movie three stars out of five stars and describes Perusu as a raunchy Tamil comedy about two brothers concealing their deceased father’s awkward condition. Fast-paced dialogue and escalating chaos keep the humor alive, though the repetitive jokes wear thin. Strong performances and a charming cast ensure consistent chuckles, despite some pacing issues.
Kirubhakar Purushothaman of News18 rated the movie three stars out of five stars and calls it a bold Tamil adult comedy with a wacky premise about a respected elder’s awkward posthumous condition, leading to chaotic efforts by his sons. While funny at times, the film’s overuse of phallic jokes and lack of character depth limit its impact. Emotional moments add balance, and strong performances by Bala Saravanan, Reddin Kingsley, and Munishkanth provide some charm, but it falls short of being a standout comedy.
Narayani M of Cinema Express rated the movie three stars out of five stars and describes it a Tamil adult comedy that mixes chaotic humor with emotional moments. While the first half drags, the second half delivers well-timed gags and strong performances from Bala Saravanan and Deepa Shankar. Emotional depth, though underexplored, adds some balance. Despite missed jokes and thin character development, the film offers plenty of laughs and a satisfying climax.
Anusha Sundar of OTTplay rated the movie two and a half stars out of five stars and describes it as a Tamil adult comedy with a unique premise that blends humor and emotion. While Sunil and Vaibhav’s performances shine, the film suffers from missed opportunities and uneven pacing. The second half’s chaotic climax adds effective humor, making Perusu a decent watch despite some dull moments.
Gopinath Rajendran of The Hindu describes Perusu as a Tamil adult comedy with a simple premise about a family hiding their deceased father’s awkward condition. The film relies on slapstick humor, double entendres, and witty one-liners, delivering plenty of laughs. Strong performances from Vaibhav, Sunil, and Bala Saravanan elevate the film, though its reliance on easy jokes and missed opportunities for deeper themes limit its impact. Despite some flaws, Perusu remains a fun, mindless entertainer.
